Dear xournal developers,
thank you for this great software.
let me introduce myself: my name is Romano Giannetti, I am a quite
old (really) Unix/Linux user (since 1988, no less), and I recently
acquired a wacom tablet and since then I am heavily using Xournal for
preparing notes for my classes. I made a couple of suggestions through
sourceforge, but I decided that, if needed, I would like to try to help
back in development. I read the thread here:
https://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00324.html
and what I can do is to test Xournal in my Linux 13.10 laptop and
helping ironing out things. I used to program a bit in C, I know a
little of C++, but my skills with graphic interfaces are practically
zero (don't think programming graphics on Commodore 64 helps...); on the
other hand I am able to use basic git and I am not scared about
compiling and test things.
So... I suppose from the above discussion that the logical thing
would be to test the gtk3 port with the later addition... especially
nice the ones done by the students cited in the thread above. Do you
have any hint --- which repositories copy, which branches, something
like that --- to start testing?
Romano
