Hi all-

I asked newbie about this but got no responses, so I'll ask the experts.
:)  I've also debugged the situation some more, so I have new
information.  Anyway, my problem is this:  I have two ATI cards that I
can't get to work at once.  I have a AGP radeon, and a PCI r128.  They
each work fine by themselves, and also work fine when both are
physically in the machine, but X only uses one.  They also work in dual
screen and xinerama mode if I turn of acceleration, but thats just way
too slow to deal with. :(  Turning off acceleration on one screen or the
other seems to help it last longer before crashing, but it still
crashes.

The failure mode is that after working for a while, if I do something to
stress the server (like move an "opaque" window around vigorously), the
server will lock up.  I can still move the mouse pointer, but it will be
stuck on one screen or the other.  If I try to move it off the current
screen, it will stop at the edge, but act like the pointer has moved
past the edge.  That is I will have to move it back towards the current
screen the same amount I moved it off before the pointer starts to move
again.

Once the server is dead, killing the X process or trying to switch
consoles will not reset the monitor.  I have to log in to the machine
remotely to shut it down and reboot.  I'm including my config file and a
log below. This log file shows the r128 haning, but both will do it
(this piece of code seems to be the same in both drivers). 

This is a RH7.2 dual PII (I've also tried in non-SMP boot mode)
machine.  I've tried both 4.2.0 binaries from RPM and compiling the CVS
code.  The results are the same.  (As a side note, what build target
should I use if I just want to partially recompile X?  I tried turning
on the DEBUG flags in r128.h and radeon.h, but "make World" takes pretty
much forever and seems to rebuild everything.)

Anyway, is this a known problem?  Is there a way around this?  Is there
anything I can do that would help figure out what the issue is?
