Aye, but wouldn't the X server free the memory it uses on behalf of other clients after those processes die? This problem requires a full restart of X to clear up... It's not a big problem, though. I've been running with X in this condition for a couple days now and X still feels snappy, just scrolling in xmms isn't as fast as it could be.
