[Xpert]can't display 16:9 mode

Can't XFree86 display the 848x480 or 1280x768 mode ?
But i can find the mode in the XFree86.0.log,
it means it should be supported.
And I can display the mode in Win98 in the same platform.
My VGA chip is Prosavage with XFree86 4.2.
