[Xpert]X consumes nearly 100% cpu

Hello!

I compiled the XFree86 server 4.2.0
and I'm using the nv driver.
When I start the X-server and change
to the graphical display (KDE) then
the X consumes about 100% of the
cpu; going back to the non graphics console the X load on the cpu
vanishes.
Why consumes X so much cpu?
