We are seeing a strange problem with a bunch of new GeForce4 MX420-based
cards on Linux/x86, both with the XFree86 driver and with NVIDIA's
binary-only driver. While the overall display appearance is fine, text
characters in xterms or the xdm/kdm login window have a distinct shadow to
their right. We have tried different resolutions (the intended one being
1280x1024) and refresh rates, and both the stock 4.2.0 nv_drv.o and one
from a mid-october cvs snapshot to no avail. The same monitor (21"
viewsonic) apparently works fine when connected to a Matrox card (driven
by 4.2.0 with basically the same XF86Config settings). Is there
anything else i could try (Option "NoAccel" did not seem to help) ?
