Hearing recently on xpert of new all-Radeon drivers from ATi, I checked their web site to see whether they would work and give usable 3D acceleration on my Dell C600 laptop's Radeon Mobility LY. (3D works reasonably fast with the DRI that came with RH 7.3/XF86 4.2.0, but neither that code nor a recent DRI trunk seem to work properly when rendering antialiased points, so I wanted to see if the new driver worked better.)
But when I search for a Radeon Mobility Linux driver on ATi's driver page, it claims that those using Mobility chipsets must get them from their vendor. It sounds as though that means the new Radeon Linux drivers are no help for Radeon Mobility users. Has anyone heard otherwise? Thanks (wishing I could have found a laptop, just one model, that had fast 3-D graphics, good power management, and an eraser-style mouse and didn't weigh 10 pounds...)
