I want to set my resolution to 1600x1200. I have put this mode in the
Screen/Display/Modes list but the screen always comes up in 1280x1024.
Using Ctrl-Alt-+ and - steps through the modes but not 1600x1200.
I was not sure if my card supported 24 bpp at this resolution so I
changed it to 16, but the result was the same.
Could X be calculating some refresh-rate limitation from the
Monitor/HorizSync and VertRefresh entries? The specs for my monitor
do not support 1600x1200 but I have been able to drive it at
1600x1200x60Hz from Windows.
Is this mailing-list archived somewhere?
