Hi all,

The XFree version I am using is the one that comes with RedHat 8.0, and if
there is an update to the distro version, I'm using it (I run autoupdate to
keep current.)

I have a i810 (onboard) and a S3 Trio 64 V2 (PCI) that I am trying to run
together. I generated a basic XF86Config file using "XFree86 -configure", and
it looks good to me. If I start up X, my left monitor (the i810) works fine,
but my right monitor (S3) displays a bunch of vertical lines at the top, as
if the video mode is not being set correctly. If I "adjust" my ServerLayout
section, commenting out the second monitor, so I only have:

Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0

The i810 works fine by itself.

If I change the device to "Screen1":

Screen 0 "Screen1" 0 0

The S3 works fine by itself. It is only when I have:

Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0
Screen 1 "Screen1" RightOf "Screen0"

That the S3 does not seem to initalize properly.

A little interesting tidbit is that when I run the S3 alone, I get that some
"line pattern" flash up just before the X starts working properly. When I run
dualhead, it looks like the S3 starts to initalize, but never completes.

Ideas? Theories? Suggestions?

-Eric ;-)

P.S. Happy New Year!
