Thanks to everyone who tried out the change in 2.8.3_beta3 (and 4) and provided
feedback. I'm glad to see that these changes have addressed some longstanding
crashes and some drawing issues. I believe all the reported regressions from
these changes have been addressed in beta5:

Please do continue testing and providing feedback (especially if you see a
regression compared to earlier versions).
