Summary: Xtla Bookmarks should be ported to DVC Project: Xtla Submitted by: moy Submitted on: Mon 11/14/2005 at 00:28 Category: dvc Priority: 3 - Low Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Planned Release: None Type of request: big feature Merge available: None merge request: Fixed Release: Test case in xtla-tests.el: _______________________________________________________ Details: Warning: Xtla's bookmark are more or less the mandatory entry point. This was IMHO a mistake. I like to use the filesystem as a starting point (M-x ansi-term RET cd /path/to/project RET M-x baz-something). The bookmarks feature should be 1) an optional starting point for most DVC commands 2) a place where persistant and per-user (therefore not commitable) informations can be stored about a project. In particular, the partners for the "partner missing (killer) feature". We need to think quite a bit before implementing this, since the notion of branches are very different using bzr/darcs/hg, where each working tree is a branch, and GNU Arch/Bazaar 1 where a branch can have several working trees. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://gna.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=4711> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/
