I've put together a set of debian packaging files for xtla---I plan to
push them to a public mirror soon, although there's a couple of issues
to resolve first (compiling ewoc for xemacs, for instance).

Perhaps the biggest question, though, is how I should derive a version
number?

The debian files live in a local archive tagged from Mattheiu's, so,
an obvious answer would be to pull the version from that local archive
and use that.

However, since I don't do elisp development in any real way, I wonder
if it makes sense to tie the version of the resulting package to my
archive---it's only concerned with the debian files, and all the elisp
changes will be pulled from other archives, generally by way of
Matthieu's.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
