Hey All,

Lionel has uploaded a new app from the xfce-goodies family called
xfce4-volstatus-icon, and we want to see what others think about including
it by default in gutsy.

From the package information:

Description: xfce systray icon for ejecting removable volumes. This program
displays an icon in the systray, which allows you to easily (and safely)
unmount/eject your removable volumes under xfce.

I've uploaded a couple of images to show it in action:
http://j1m.net/images/volstatus1.png (how it appears when you've added a
volume - this icon isn't present when there is no additionally-mounted
volume)
http://j1m.net/images/volstatus2.png (how you graphically unmount a volume)
http://j1m.net/images/volstatus3.png (notification when volume is
unmounted)

A couple of notes:
It seems to work fine for both usb and cd-rom drives, but it is still
a 0.1release.
Although functioning well, it uses the same systray icon for all mounted
volumes (e.g., usb thumb drives, cdrom's, my ipod, etc.)

I've tested it out a bit on gutsy, and haven't had any trouble with it, and
Lionel has tried it out a bit on Feisty without any problems... let us know
what you think. Thanks,

Jim
