Hi Stephen,

I know that comment, such as the one I made, is very subjective. In response to your question, If I look at the lightdm greeter for xubuntu and lubuntu 14.04, I find the lubuntu layout to be lighter colors, better graphic on the user icon. The dark color that are used on xubuntu see, IHMO, very outdated. Don't get me wrong, I like xubuntu and run it on several older systems. But, the darkness of the overall package is and has been a put off – like it's stuck in the 90's and that aesthetics is always the lowest priority.

Robert,

Could you please elaborate as to what exactly you find ugly with the greeter? We
are coming up on various freezes soon so drastic changes are going to be less &
less possible to implement as time passes by.

Greetings,

Personally, I have never been fond of the general ascetics of xubuntu
out-of-the box. However, I have to say that the current login greeter is very,
IMHO, ugy. To get around this I have always installed the unity-greeter. But,
today I happened to install Lubuntu 14.04 and was surprised to see their login
greeter looking much nicer.

My humble question is; will the login greeter for xubuntu change or is it going
to continue as is?

Rob
