1. Please keep things on the e-mail list to the extent possible. I know my
responsibilities to the exchequer have kept me away quite a bit but I can at
least read personal e-mail on my smartphone during breaks. Discourse as a
platform is nice but let us not import too much of that paradigm here in
branching off new threads so readily.

2. As to gridcube's notion of changing browser default pages, the tools do
exist to do that. We would need to add something to -settings akin to what
ubuntu-defaults-builder allows in diverting Firefox's default homepage. I
wouldn't recommend that because only Firefox acknowledges such a diversion
among all in-archive browsers and that can be overrode by other packages. Neat
idea but a horrid mess to execute.

3. With as arbitrary and capricious as pronouncements have been lately from my
nation-state's federal chief executive, I remain subject to potential furlough
with very little notice in my job at the exchequer. If and when that happens I
expect to return to having an IRC presence.

4. Thank you to everybody for the excellent testing. I did an in-situ upgrade
jump from 13.10 to 14.04 after the Beta 1 release and haven't really had
anything go crunch or bang yet.
