Hi everyone,

as the votes we had on two topics regarding default applications for 15.10
expired last night, I will now quickly summarize the results and talk about the
consequences.

=== Numerical Results ===

Dropping GIMP:
for 4 | against 3 | neutral 3

Dropping Abiword:
for 7 | against 2 | neutral 1

Installing LibreOffice (or parts):
for 4 | against 3 | neutral 3

=== Consequences ===

Since two of the votes are tight, I will quickly explain the consequences.
First of all, Elizabeth (our Marketing Lead) informed us of her votes in the
channel but didn't formally vote by sending in the appropriate emails, hence I
didn't add her votes to the sum here. She did vote +1 on all three votes, so
the results look quite a bit clearer. In terms of dropping Gimp I would argue
it's totally fine to try this in the upcoming cycle based on this result and
re-evaluate for the LTS.
In terms of including LibreOffice for the first time, Sean (our Technical Lead)
voted +0 (almost +1), which makes me confident that it's Ok for us to go
through with this decision despite the impression of a "tight race" when
looking at the numerical results above.

So all in all this means that 15.10 will be shipped without Gimp, Abiword and
Gnumeric but instead (parts of) the LibreOffice Suite.

Thanks to everyone who participated in these discussions (I know we've had them
plenty of times), but I feel we finally made some progress here.

Cheers
Simon
