im not super certain its hardware related but it isnt cable related, (tried
4 diffrent ones)

tried a "Why the heck not" moment in trying to make a "Unique" HDMI
Display work, (Xubuntu 16.04.3 - Mac Mini Unibody) which i had to define a
new screenmode (800x480 as this things ment for use w/ a raspberryPi 3)

i left what i needed in my ~/.xprofile to make sure this stays upon reboot
(using this guide here:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/377937/how-to-set-a-custom-resolution) and
sure it works..... but it also doesnt or atleast seems this way.

to have a usable screen while i did this as i techincally didnt have a
spare, i did it over the display comming from an connected Elgato HD, (was
bothersome w/ a 4 second delay)and its fine even at this resolution .... if
its being piped thru the Elgato, i fi shut it down and Reboot w/ the screen
directly connected.. Nothin and i get nada unless i switch back AND Reboot.

now using a Pi in this case i know the solution is setting a HDMI Signal
boost, (which im not sure moden PCs or even vintage systems did maybe its
just a thing for the Pi?) but under Xubuntu is it possible set that for a
mac? or something or is there a whole diffrent issue im not just seeing
other than tiny arse screen just being pushe dto do something its not
designed to be used with.
