Dear Xubuntu Community,

I've noticed that the *xubuntu-core* package, which is currently marked as
transitional, still has a significant number of dependants. It has about
essentially 94 dependant packages, as a result of *xubuntu-desktop-minimal*
being a dependency/dependant of such. While I understand the concept of
transitional packages, as usually defined as follows:

A transitional package is one that has been superseded by a more modern
package, but still exists in the archive to provide backwards compatibility
for old packages [often in a context where they get renamed].

It seems a bit concerning that a package marked as transitional continues
to be *'relied'* upon by essential system components. Much so that its
description says, *"It can be safely removed"* even if otherwise.

Any information or clarification on this matter would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you for your time and attention on this issue.

Kindest regards,
Jill Abarte (Keiaa)
