I have had this happen once or twice and it seems to be related to a
utility which specifies what app to use for what type of file, and this
is sometimes misconfigured, but other times Thunderbird ignores it and
tries to open the resource itself, and gets itself into a twist.
and opening other app does not give a list of apps either ...
What "other app"?
a button that lets you choose --> click --> nothing happens ...
