Hi, I don't know if it's the right place to post my question, but I have not been able to find something satisfying yet. I'm also quite new to the X window system environment.
I'd like to create an application where I grab the content of a X window, i.e. each bytes of each pixels. I know that there's a way by calling the known XGetImage function, but I'm unsure about its performances and I was wondering if there was another way of doing this. Is XGetImage the only way to get raw data of a X window ? Are the performances O.K. ? I'm also interested in using the Xdamage extension in order to get only damaged regions of a window in order to render it to another drawable. I was wondering if there was a way to get the data from those regions in another way than using regions and pictures. Kind of XGetImage (getting raw data) but without getting the whole image but only the damaged parts of it. Any ideas or clues about that ? Thank you very much for your help and please advise me if I'm not posting at the right place. Jerome -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
