I am sponsoring this case for Niveditha Rau of the X11 Engineering team,
and have marked it closed approved automatic as it simply adds a new
command option that is in the current X11R7 release of xwd from X.Org.

4. Technical Description
xwd is a X utility that allows users to store window images in a specially
formatted dump file. This file can then be read by various other X utilities
(like xwud) for redisplay, printing, editing, formatting, archiving, image
processing, etc. The target window is selected by clicking the pointer in the
desired window.
This project updates our current version of xwd to the open
source xwd version 1.0.1, which introduces a new option to
the existing set of options:
xwd -silent
The manual page description of the new option is:
-silent
Operate silently, i.e. don't ring any bells before and after
dumping the window.
