I tried this on build 40 and while there is a warning about Xst (II) LoadModule: "Xst" (WW) Warning, couldn't open module Xst (II) UnloadModule: "Xst" (EE) Failed to load module "Xst" (module does not exist, 0) it is not fatal. I suspect you have really run into the static TLS problem detected starting in b39. As a workaround, use the /lib/ld.so.1 from b38 and see if that fixes the problem.
