The ATI DRI module in OpenSolaris only supports older ATI graphics (the
R300 & R400 series, approximately Radeon 9500 through Radeon X1100).
You would need to get a new DRM module compiled in the kernel side, and
then update the driver_aliases entries to attach it to your graphics card.
(And possibly more - I've never done this, just working on the X server
side, not the kernel side.)
