I have tried 2,4 and 8. Same problem it still would hard reset. Note I also tried to get into the debugger but the keyboard is locked up. I'm about to do an upgrade on the other system with the same type of motherboard by turning the ACPI off in the bios. I don't suspect any problems. I have noticed a few grumbles about power issues starting at build 102 on the opensolaris irc. Which may be releated. I have other Athlon X2 systems with Nforce chipsets that do not have any of these issues. In fact my laptop which has a pci-e x 7800gtx and a via chipset doesn't have this issue.
