Linda, There is no need for the 3DLabs Wildcat Realizm or Wildcat4 video drivers to be 'open sourced' at this time - just accessible and usable as 'closed source' drivers under the Xorg 7.x framework with full 2D/3D HW acceleration. This would provide adequate support for consumers using the XVR-600/1200/2500 cards for SPARC-based platforms and fall under distribution rights similar to the way the closed source Nvidia drivers are distributed today. Also, protects the IHVs/OEMs IP and gets things moving a bit faster. >From what I've understood, the work to move the ATI/3DLabs XVR-100/300/2500 >video drivers from XSun to Xorg 7.x is done? So, open sourcing the video >drivers is just a side topic? ~ Ken Mays This message posted from opensolaris.org
