This will only make more of the low 4GB space available for device
apertures, but doesn't solve the basic problem.  Consider:

  1. The NVIDIA driver supports up to eight devices per system.

  2. NVIDIA has already announced a single card with 4GB of memory:

Again, the driver can get at all the memory even when the aperture
is a fraction of the total size.  None of the memory is wasted.
