I just built XFree86 4.7.0 and am trying to get it to run on
an Ultra45 with XVR-300 running Solaris 10 (not OpenSolaris).
The reason I thought it might work is that I saw this in
the release notes:
3.5.2 XFree86 core server and modules
...
o Added support for UltraSPARC IV systems,
including support for PCI Express.
Is the Ultra45 an "UltraSPARC IV systems"? Does there exist
a hardware matrix for SPARCs that shows info about what busses
they have and if X.org can run on them?
Installed the aperture driver that I found in the XFree86
src tree at:
xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/etc/apSolaris.shar
when I run the PCI bus scanning program found at:
xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/etc/scanpci
I get this output:
# ./scanpci -V 9
PCI host bridge found ("pciex108e,80f0")
PCI host bridge found ("pciex108e,80f0")
No PCI devices found
Should that command be able to find the XVR-300 card?
