did you use "ssh -X ..." ?       /* UpPeRcase 'X' */
/* Disabling auth would not be necessary only and alone in case of "ssh
-X ...". */

Is $DISPLAY set??
(if not, set it manually i.e. to "192.168.0.1:0.0", where you substitute
your host's IPv4 address)
