Yep.
Definitely not, a no-go.
But this might not be a stopper, if you just intend to use that board as a
secondary head.
Or if you have any other means to access the console: Serial Console [or also
RSC with console over tcp/ip (don't know if RSC slot present on U60)].
Or if you just once set everything up properly (using serial console) and run
that box headless afterwards.

Xorg / XFree86 does have the drivers in question.
_But_: It even has problems with the SUNW-distributed OF-ready ati based boards
like PGX, PGX64, XVR-100.
Ati chipsets are not all that well working on some "semi-good Xorg_supported"
machines like the U60 for example.
Because the Ati driver includes support for many diff. chipsets and simply
tries to do "too much" scanning - and either segfaults, or even forces the
system to freeze or reset. Only removing power (no STOP+A) helps in hard cases.
But shouldn't a Rage Pro even be supported by both a SUNW-distributed /dev/fb
driver ("m64" in this case) _and_ Xsun?
It should, normally.
Try a fresh sxcr install over serial console.
And watch /devices and /dev.
OP: Why are you asking the question?
If you just look for a cheap gfx option, I would strongly recommend you to ebay
a cheap PGX32 / Techsource Raptor 8p, or a PGX-64 or an UPA board (for as low
as $9.95).
But if you're interested in the whole topic, then go on and try getting the
Rage Pro to work as X11-only card. :)
