I'm trying snv_30 on an IBM T43p with 1600x1200 LCD with ATI FireGL
128 MB video. Seems to work OK but fonts in some apps (like the Sun
Download manager) appear wrong while others (Mozilla) appear OK.
I am using an xorg.conf file to tell Xorg about the size of the display so
things get displayed in other than tiny fonts (add a line in the Monitor
section with " DisplaySize 305 229") The result is xdpyinfo reports
the appropriate 133 dpi:

screen #0:
  dimensions: 1600x1200 pixels (306x229 millimeters)
  resolution: 133x133 dots per inch

I did a clean install to make sure I didn't have any old stuff around
from testing wireless and other stuff on snv_27 (various upgrades
from older versions).

I have tried running 'fc-cache -f' to make sure the cache is OK.
[Note that man fc-cache seems to display only single words on
a line when man of most other things works as expected. I did
a catman to create formatted files.]

The menus provided by zenity appear to be antialiased but things like
the fonts in SDM and the title in the top of the Mozilla window appear
like they are not. I'm running CDE. I've attached a compressed
(bzip2) tiff file showing a mozilla window and the same for a SDM
window.

Suggestions on what to do to fixup the display of some fonts?

Thanks,

Stuart
