Which is why I have a feeling the problem is not in deficient 
implementation, but in misconfiguration.

I'll see if I can get NVidia's drivers to work with my SXCE b28, amd64, 
GeForce FX5200 machine.

It seems that EXA is still not available for NVidia.  I'm waiting for 
ZFS to stabilize and then I'll upgrade my laptop and see if the Radeon 
in it will benefit from EXA.
