Whilst Googling for something else, found this library: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/downloads/sparc_graphics/
Are these relevant or useful for snv122 or later? Out of curiosity, what are the pkgs SUNWffb and SUNWafb about? # pkg install SUNWffb No updates necessary for this image. # pkg install SUNWafb No updates necessary for this image. These pkgs don't seem to contain any utilities (like ffbconfig), but they don't seem to contain drivers either: at boot it says WARNING: consconfig: cannot find driver for screen device /SUNW,ffb at 1d,0 Can't find driver for console framebuffer > On 09/09/09 08:58 PM, Martin Bochnig wrote: >> >> Is it okay if I rebeuild an UPA-ready version of fox-gate for you and >> provide this as pkgadd-package in 7 days time? >> Thanks for your interest (really!). I guess there's no point in messing around with the above until you have time to make the package. I was looking around at hardware one might use to replace the SPARC boxes, and they all seem to have power supplies even larger than the ones in the SPARCs, which seem to draw around 200W when relatively idle, so if you can make the fbs work then there's really no incentive to retire them just yet. An X86 replacement would be awfully expensive and really not use much less juice :-). Right now I am using my laptop (RHFC10) as an X-terminal but it would be much nicer to use the ffbs...
