Alan, thanks for forwarding this message; I just found and subscribed to xwin-discuss.
Here's what I did: Installed livecd first. Could not connect to internet as no nic support (nvidia chipset) Next installed from usb stick snv_125. After installation, OSOL booted into VESA. I've tried modifying xorg.conf to use nvidia. But when I do this, X won't come up with the errors listed. After that I downloaded latest driver from nvidia. As it seems, this one was already installed ... :-) (stupid me ::-) ) When I try to uninstall the driver, I get an error. Here's my log: ------------------------------------------------------ erwin at opensolaris:~/Downloads# pfexec chmod +x NVIDIA-Solaris-x86-185.18.36.run erwin at opensolaris:~/Downloads# ls -la total 45873 drwxr-xr-x 2 erwin staff 3 Oct 26 20:46 . drwxr-xr-x 26 erwin staff 43 Oct 26 20:47 .. -rwxr-xr-x 1 erwin staff 23416725 Oct 26 20:46 NVIDIA-Solaris-x86-185.18.36.run erwin at opensolaris:~/Downloads# pfexec ./NVIDIA-Solaris-x86-185.18.36.run Removing NVDAgraphics IPS package, please wait. pkg: Requested "uninstall" operation would affect files that cannot be modified in live image.
