upcoming integration of X11R7.5 / Xorg 1.7.3 for Nevada at:

IMPORTANT NOTES - *READ BEFORE INSTALLING*:
In order to install this build you must be running a recent build of SXCE
(aka Solaris Nevada installed with SVR4 packages, not IPS/OpenSolaris 200x.xx).
The packages included conflict with the system packages installed on an IPS
system, and since IPS will not allow replacing packages in the middle of the
dependency tree without uninstalling everything that depends on one of these
libraries, they cannot be replaced at this time.
We are targeting delivery to nv_130 - IPS users will be able to test when
that build is published to the IPS repositories. (A limited number of these
packages may be able to be installed on top of the IPS packages if you accept
the pkgadd warnings of file conflicts - for instance, you should be able to
pkgadd SUNWfontconfig-root & SUNWfontconfig to test the fontconfig changes -
but any package containing compatibility links in /usr/openwin will have
issues, and since you can't remove the old packages, any package containing
files moved to new paths will result in both sets being installed, and
bad things may occur when you cross the streams.)
When you install this package set the packages containing Xsun & the
encumbered fonts will be removed. If you need to reinstall them later,
you will need the build 129 or later versions to be compatible with the
new directories in these packages. (Those are available internally from
xserver.sfbay now, but unfortunately cannot be posted to opensolaris.org due
to the license restrictions.)
You will need to either have SUNWxorg-xkb from build 127 or later,
or install a link for Xorg to find it in it's new location by running:
ln -s ../../X11/lib/X11/xkb /usr/share/X11/xkb
This release of the Xorg server is not compatible with modules or drivers
for Xorg 1.6 and earlier releases. Most Xorg drivers are included with
these packages, but some are not. Most notably:
If you use the nvidia drivers, you will need at least these versions:
R96, for GPU families G2x and lower: 96.43.14
R173, for GPU families G3x: 174.14.22
Current release driver, for GPU families G4x through G2xx: 190.42
If you are using a SPARC workstation, only the astfb & wsfb drivers are
included. efb (XVR-50/100/300) and kfb (XVR-2500) drivers will be
delivered to the WOS when these are integrated.
If you use VirtualBox, the Guest Additions driver will probably not load
until VBox included a Xorg 1.7-compatible driver. Fortunately, the VESA
driver performance bug when running 32-bit Xorg under VirtualBox should
be fixed now thanks to a fix contributed by Juergen Keil for build 129.
To install, simply bunzip2 / untar the tarball, cd into the resulting
directory and run (as root): ./upgrade-X
If you need to rollback to an earlier build, due to the number of new
packages installed that will conflict with the older build, you will first
need to remove this build by running the included upgrade-X script with the
"-r" (remove) flag, and then run the upgrade-X script for the build you
want to move to.
