As you've probably seen on the announcement & core contributor lists,
it's time to confirm our Core Contributors for the upcoming OGB elections.
This grants votes in both the OGB elections affecting the overall community,
and any votes we hold in the X community, such as voting on other contributors
or sponsoring projects.
To receive a Core Contributor grant, either new or renewed, a person must:
- be registered as an account holder on opensolaris.org
- be nominated by an existing Core Contributor as "active and sustained
contributor" to the X group (not necessarily by code contribution, but
any form of participation)
- receive at least 3 votes in favor (+1) and no votes against (-1) in
e-mail from the existing Core Contributors. Votes will be collected
for a minimum of 72 hours after nomination, or until all CC's have voted,
whichever comes first.
- indicate via e-mail to either the mailing list or the facilitator (me)
that they understand and accept the responsibilities of the grant as
described at:

Nominations & votes must be sent via e-mail to xwin-discuss. Our deadline
for notifying the OGB secretary is Feb. 14, so nominations need to be in the
next week or so in order to allow the required time for voting & notification.
People who are not Core Contributors can suggest nominees (including requesting
they be nominated) by mailing the list or any existing core contributor, asking
them to nominate someone. (Of course, we may not act on all suggestions, but
we should at least consider them.)
