New question #695868 on Yade: https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/695868
Hi All, recently, we did a very interesting experiment. here is the general description of this experiment [1]: we use silica gel to create a hollow cylinder with caps on both ends. we also use wires to constrain the radial deformation of the hollow cylinder, as shown in figure 2. Then, we embed the hollow cylinder in the sand with a tube connecting at the top of the cylinder (as shown in figure 4). Finally, we inject air into the hollow cylinder. The hollow cylinder will extend and contract in the vertical direction with the air goes in and out (because we constrained the deformation of the hollow cylinder in the radial direction). ################################################################# In Yade, I know PFacet can deform. But I'm wondering if PFacet can simulate the extension and contraction of the hollow cylinder in the vertical direction. Because I don't whether the PFacet can extend its dimensions or not. ####################### If I want to simulate this experiment. the PFacet will change from a series of small triangles to a series of large triangles. ####################################################################### I hope you guys can give me some suggestions. thanks Yong references: [1] https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1002/aisy.201900183 -- You received this question notification because your team yade-users is an answer contact for Yade. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~yade-users Post to : yade-users@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~yade-users More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
