Public bug reported: Basically, calls to sudo, root_wrap, and ip netns exec all add overhead that can make these calls very expensive. Developing an effecting way of consolidating these calls in to considerably fewer calls will be a big win. This assumes the mechanism for consolidating them does not itself add a lot of overhead.
