You have been subscribed to a public bug: At present nova doesnt exposes the uuid from libvirt as hypervisor-uuid. It becomes an issue when we try to match with other service providers like Cisco UCS. Though there has been review put for this and it has been abandoned. I think there is necessity rising to expose this vital information.
