Allowing pings requires setting a custom ICMP rule of Type 8 and code 0

In stable/mitaka and on master it is now not possible, the form will not
validate and gives this error:

The ICMP code is invalid.
Not a valid port number

as if "0" was a port number (but is not, it's the icmp code).
