Went through the patch superficially. Looks reasonable to me. Also, doesn't 
look like YARN-1222 would affect it in any major way, might have to rebase the 
patch on top. 

[~ozawa] - can you take a look at the latest patch on YARN-1222 and see if 
anything interferes with the patch here? Thanks.
