Xibo Wang created YARN-5528:
-------------------------------

Summary: Container still running when Resource Manager shutdown
                 Key: YARN-5528
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-5528
             Project: Hadoop YARN
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 2.6.0
         Environment: Hadoop 2.6.0-cdh5.4.10
Linux cd5exg-b729b2.dev.betfair 2.6.18-406.el5xen #1 SMP Tue Jun 2 18:07:09 EDT
2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

            Reporter: Xibo Wang

We are test the stability of our yarn application.
We have firstly a container running, then shutdown the resource manager via
Cloudera Web UI.
The container is still running. Then the AM creates a new container in another
node manager when the standby resource manager become active. Now we have two
containers running at the same time.
Is there anyway we can cleanup the old container when the standby resource
manager become active?

This looks similar to https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-5527
