Is listed there because is a linuxrc option that still works as
documented. It changes how linuxrc references the devices and how it
passes the name of those devices to subsequent stages of the
installation (via the install.inf file).

No. The documentation says nothing about that. The documentation states
it affects the name scheme used by linuxrc. It doesn't mention YaST, the
Expert Partitioner or any other installer component beyond linuxrc itself.
