Please, talk to the openSUSE team. AFAIK they do not want to maintain yet
another
update repository for YaST. It requires some extra work like validation and
testing
to not break something else. And I guess they do not have free resources for
this.
But YaST itself supports the self update feature also in openSUSE, the
installer is
the same as in SLE. From YaST POV adding support for automatic self update in
openSUSE is just a matter of adding <self_update_url> tag in the control.xml
file.
See the SLE example [1].
However, you can still use "self_update=<URL>" boot option pointing to a custom
self
update repository.
We (the YaST team) already provide an unofficial openSUSE self update
repository, it
mainly contains fixes for the storage related parts. If you see some storage
related
issues (esp. at upgrade) then you might give it a try. See [2] for more details
how
to use it.
