The problem I see with #3 is that, in addition to exposing complicated concepts 
as main menu items,  the main menu items themselves would become disabled often 
depending on selection.

Yes, that is kinda what I thought as well. For someone who doesn’t see YaST 
every day it’s hard to imagine.
