Comrades, I also missed this famous interview that most comrades are talking about, but just listening to the flow of issues, it does not seem like there is any supporting information that was provided by whoever made this claim to prove its validity. This, to me, remains a baseless rumour, based on malicious intentions of diverting us from our common course of building a formidable people's movement towards the 2009 elections. My take therefore is that, let us not give unwarranted credence to this malicious allegation by discussing it, at least until sufficient information has been provided by those who manufactured these lies.
Let us continue engaging on strategic and empowering issues that help to advance the struggle of the working class and the poor. Let us not allow the counter-revolutionaries to set the agenda for our discussions. ________________________________ From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tebogo Manele Sent: Tuesday, October 07, 2008 2:02 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [YCLSA Discussion] Re: GS and the IFP Cdes Don't you think the IFP could have blown their own trumpet to claim Cde Blade as their own long ago? The IFP has always ensured that everyone who has been in their membership books before joining the progressive forces is exposed, particularly when such individuals start criticising the IFP. A case in point here is our former Minister of Education, Professor Bhengu, who the IFP Chief said that they have ensured that they spend their resources to educate him, and then he was turning on the very same hand that fed him. At the very same time, Cde Blade was the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Education in the National Assembly, and still spitting fire like he does now, when it comes to issues of the workers and the poor. Some of us may not have heard the interview on SAFM, but there are those of us that know that Cde Blade has a very long history in the left. He was part of the editorial team of the South African Labour Bulletin before. He made powerful inputs in the debates on the future of socialism in the country in the early 1990s and served the Party very close to Cde Harry Gwala in the Natal Province. No matter who says what, we cannot and will not forsake our own. It becomes our responsibility to defend our leaders and thereby our movement when they are attacked. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Sifiso Ntanzi Sent: 07 October 2008 11:59 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [YCLSA Discussion] GS and the IFP Cadres I am still very young of course but I think I remeber the GS as one of the ANC leaders who were part of the CODESA negotiations . This means that he was a member of the progressive movement for more than a year at that time. Therefore I think even if he was once a member of the IFP, of which I doubt it ever happened, he is now a dedicated member of the ANC and SACP, a strong anchor of the workers and the poor. Not only has he managed to grasp the Marx theory he is preaching about it making sure that some of us like me and you are groomed into understanding this theory which is why I am a member of the YCLSA which is communist school. NZIMANDE HAS BEEN AND IS WITH THE WORKER AND THE POOR AT ALL COSTS SOCIALISM IS MY FUTURE Socialist Regards Sifiso waka Ntanzi 012 672 9118 <BR Disclaimer: This message may contain confidential information and is intended only for the individual named.
