Letters supporting Cde Kgalema Motlanthe, Deputy President of the ANC.
Do you think that the personal lives of political figures should be forced into public view? Do you think that the Sunday Independent and The Star were justified in publishing details - whether true or not - of the private life of the President of the Republic? Should we not respect the privacy of all citizens whether or not they hold public office? How is such information in any way relevant to the important work that needs to be done to improve the lives of our people? This is not the first time. It is clear that both the President and Deputy President are being targeted in this way. Should we allow these matters to distract us from the real issues facing our people - education, health, poverty, unemployment, crime, etc. - issues that the media should really spend their time reporting on? Let the media know your personal views on these matters. Write to: The Star letters page: [email protected] or fax 011 838 2212 (No attachments. No pseudonyms. Include full address and daytime phone number.)
