It is very cardinal that we start digging deep into what we say "ours" when we refer to comrades of the movement or to the movement itself. There would be a situation were you find comrades saying that the ANC is ours and we must defend it. What is this ours? There was a time were cdes said that the book titled "Thabo Mbeki and the Soul of the ANC" was referring to "them".
Now my confusion is brought about by this "ours" and "them". You find majority of "ours" have left for COPE (Confusion of the People) and they still continue to say now about Mbeki "ours". I need to know cdes, is the soul of the ANC Mbeki himself or what? It is high time that we know now as to who is who in the ZOO and people stop referring to "ours" were as they know that they are referring to individuals. Let's stop individualizing the movement to certain people. The ANC is one and those who spoke of "us" and "them", I believe they have left. Our task now is to make sure that the ANC is fully backed by every citizen of this country and that it wins general elections with its only Presidential Candidate, Cde Jacob Zuma.
