We have come a long way with the inference that there were conspiracies
and secret agendas in the case of ANC president Jacob Zuma. Judge Chris
Nicholson’s ruling vindicated our long-held believe of political meddling
in the case despite that the supreme court of appeal and constitutional
court failed to apply principles of common sense to expose those who
misused or abused state institutions to achieve narrow political ends.

These higher courts also failed to appreciate that the procedural
injustice dispensed against Zuma was in direct conflict with the
Constitution, and the state had no basis to charge him without affording
him an opportunity to make representation on the matter.

Interestingly, it took 8 years for the NPA to realise that the Scorpions
was used as a private army to break some laws and selectively obey others
to the detriment of our everyday legal practice – all in an attempt to
concoct evidence to secure a conviction against Zuma. With hindsight, the
NPA relented and invited Zuma to make representations after having
appealed against Nicholson's ruling that Zuma did have the right to make
representations before the NDPP decided to re-charge him. This was not
only a waste of tax-payer's money but a proof of subjective prejudices and
attitudes of the NPA towards Zuma’s case.

Despite all of this, vexatious litigants with no interest for the rule of
law and the basic rights guaranteed in the constitution are soliciting
signatures for a petition to institute a private prosecution against Zuma.
We can only wish them luck in their endeavour but doubtful of any prospect
of success.

We remain confident that the people of SA will vote for the ANC on 22
April 2009, to advance a cause to work together to achieve a better life
for all.

The oppositions are eating humble pie after they stated that the ANC is
manipulating the judiciary. After Mpshe pronounced it clear that Bulelani and
McCarthy were behind the political conspiracy that we have been complaining
about, the Zilles, Holomisas, Delliles and Dandalas walked with their tails
between their legs and with heads down.
They are n o longer talking about the private prosecution they were talking
about prior to the outcome.
