Actually, I was present when they were 'inaugurated'. Beyond this, the last time I checked the cde was registered with the University of Johannesburg. Answers to my question could determine the points I wanted to make around SAUS and Sasco's (in) famous contribution to the recent congress. My worry with that structure is that it does not have absolute independency and the manner leadership is nominated, is not of the best interest of young people in South Africa but it's in the interests of the few minority. If all institutions can be affiliated to SAUS and then political parties stop interefering with it, then it would be very effective and be able to play its role properly. The reason student governance is collapsing in most institutions, it's because of unneccessary political intereference caused by those who are not in governance at the time. If comrades continue to further their terms of office by using other people to "front" for them, then thats were the problem would be.
