Well said comrade kaizer ,these hypocrites must start realizing that it is the prerogative of the ruling party to appoint someone they see fit for the position I do not doubt in any how that it was then decided that Bheki was seen fit to help the government achieve its objectives in terms of leading the police force to reduce the crime levels in this country.
Let all those who always stand on the sidelines waiting for the ANC led government to make decisions and criticize afterwards know that a decision has been made and there is no reversing it now.Welcome to Commissionar Cele and hope things will be turned around. THE APPOINTMENT OF BHEKI CELE - VICTORY FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST CRIME By: Kaizer Mohau Many in the media have responded with their usual disapproval on the appointment of Comrade Bheki Cele as the National police commissioner by the President of the Republic Comrade Jacob Zuma. But the media is not telling us as South Africans as to what is it that Comrade Bheki does not have for him to be respected and accepted as the commissioner. The media has in the past made numerous statements and calls for our government to deal with crime as a priority considering the levels of crime in the country. I therefore find it very deceitful on the part of the media; their commentators and their handlers in the form of the Democratic Alliance and COPE, for them to now say the government should not appoint whom it believes will deal with crime decisively. During the elections in fact in all the elections we had in the democratic set up the opposition made the issue of crime one of their political ace-cards against the government, but that now the government provides leadership in this context, then the government is playing the so - called political appointments game. Do the media and the opposition expect Comrade Jacob Zuma to appoint Bishop Tutu as our crime buster? No it wont work - the position of the National police commissioner is in its very nature a political position - the commissioner must ensure that the political promises we made to South Africans with regard to the fight against crime is implemented. For instance, the DA and its sister political gang, Cope, have indicated that the President is appointing people based on their political allegiance to the ruling party, what a nonsensical statement - it cannot work for our country to appoint anybody outside the ranks of the ANC, this is precisely because the ANC is the ruling party, it has won the elections and it was given a mandate so no other person outside the ANC will be determined enough to ensure that our people are not disappointed in this regard. It is very cheap and low - above all ridiculous for the DA to liken Cde Bheki Cele to Jackie Selebi - though both are from the ANC, the point is that Cde Bheki has shown through his leadership as the MEC for Transport, community safety and Liaison in Kzn, that he can do the job. Indeed criminals in this country must know that the Honeymoon is now over - the question of safety in our homes, in our streets, in our everyday lives is not a privilege but a right for which we are prepared to defend even if it means making the supreme sacrifice. As South Africans we must provide the necessary support to the national commissioner and ensure that those who are not affected by crime as we do, do not deny us the right to safety by opposing everything the ANC does - we should all say as we said many years ago; "One murderer, one bullet".
